"When we first saw the footage from Treloar in 1920" say community production company Animate and Create, "the images spoke for themselves. We talked to Valence School about partnering and working with the archive, and it was their passion for the content that gave birth to 'History In Motion'."
The biggest appeal for pupils was the comparison between the exercise and condition of facilities for young people with disabilities now compared to 1920.
The pupils subsequently produced an animated film, superimposing animation onto the archive film using the computer program, Adobe Flash. The group also visited the Animation Archive at UCA Farnham and learned about how archive is preserved.
